A member of Venture 17, Sriram is also Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Navitas Asset Management, an alternative investment management firm focussed on the Canadian Energy sector.  Sriram is an experienced and highly regarded investment banker with 17+ years of domestic and cross-border corporate finance and M&A experience.  In his investment banking career, Sriram led the execution of several landmark M&A, Equity and High Yield Debt transactions and has built an extensive network of corporate clients, institutional investors and family offices.

 

Sriram is currently focused on building and growing Navitas Asset Management, a Direct Lending platform that supports the lower middle-market energy sector in Alberta.  Navitas’ aim is to fill the liquidity gap in the sector being caused by tight debt and equity capital markets.

Prior to Navitas, Sriram was a Director, Investment Banking, Global Energy, with Credit Suisse in Calgary.  In this capacity he covered Credit Suisse’s Canadian E&P clients and helped grow the platform into one of the top two global banks.  At Credit Suisse, Sriram worked with the management teams of most of the senior and several of the mid-cap oil & gas producers in Calgary and had extensive interactions with institutional investors across North America, over the course of several transformational M&A, High Yield and Equity transactions.   Prior to Credit Suisse, Sriram was a Vice President in TD Securities’ Investment Banking, Global Energy group in Calgary.  He covered the oil sands sector in this capacity.  Prior to moving to Calgary in 2009, Sriram was an Investment Banking Associate, Latin America coverage group, with Deutsche Bank in New York, immediately after business school.  Prior to business school Sriram held roles as a Financial Analyst and as an Operations Analyst with Capital One Financial Corp., in Richmond, Virginia.

Sriram has an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he was the recipient of the Director’s Fellow Scholarship, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Andhra University in India.
